Two Calgary firms, Zeidler Partnership Architects and BKDI Architects, have merged to form Zeidler BKDI Architects.
Together, the firms have 15 years of collaboration experience and the merge recognizes their common philosophy and experience as a multi-jurisdictional professional practice. Effective this month, the new firm has 70 employees in Calgary, and will also utilize resources from Zeidler’s firms worldwide.
Senior partners Vaidila Banelis and Tarek El Khatib from Zeidler, now join BKDI partners Jean Guy Beliveau, Stephen Bugbee, Bill Mitchell, and Catherine Richardson in the newly formed firm.
Currently, Zeidler BKDI Architects are working on the 162,580-m2 (1.75 million-sf) mixed-use Calgary City Centre project, which will include office space, a hotel, residences, and retail areas. Construction is now underway on the project, which spans an entire block; occupancy is expected for next summer.
