The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) has scooped up the Community Excellence Award for small business at Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) annual Torch Awards.
The program celebrates companies making strides in advancing ethics and trust in the marketplace, and building awareness among consumers and the business community regarding the importance of ethical business practices.
The VRCA’s award recognizes businesses who blend financial success with a strong commitment to positive community impact, and who have gross sales below $ 5 million.
Stephan Blank, senior estimator at Kinetic Construction Ltd. and the VRCA’s U40 Network chair, accepted the award on behalf of the association.
“The Torch Awards are respected across the Lower Mainland’s diverse business community. Receiving a Torch Award is therefore a wonderful accolade,” said Fiona Famulak, the association’s president. “Both the VRCA and its individual members are passionate about supporting our communities, as well as the need to continue to promote fair, open, transparent, and ethical business practices across our industry.”
The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) represents close to 700 general contractors, specialty trade contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and professionals active in the non-residential construction industry in the Lower Mainland. VRCA members are involved in all operations from multinational corporations to small owner-operator businesses.
