The Durham Meadoway is a proposed pedestrian and cycling route and linear park, connecting people to destinations across more than 30 km (18.6 miles) in Durham, Ontario.
This multi-use path corridor will span Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa and act as a significant east-west recreational facility.
The project aims to create a cohesive network of active recreation spaces, educational opportunities, and ecological enhancements.
The path will integrate various typologies, from active recreation spaces to educational nodes and natural assets like wetlands.
The Durham Meadoway Visioning Study is the culmination of collaboration with various stakeholders, including Durham Region, each of the four municipalities, agencies such as the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) and Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA), Infrastructure Ontario, Hydro One, Parks Canada, and the public. The visioning study will provide a robust vision and framework to guide the future detailed planning and implementation of the corridor.
