On Thursday, February 15, CSC’s Vancouver Island Chapter will hold a luncheon meeting on “Air Barrier Design and Airtightness Testing.” Held at Fireside Grill from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., the seminar will provide a brief overview of the B.C. Energy Step Code.
This Thursday, February 8, the Vancouver Chapter of CSC is holding a luncheon at Sandman Hotel from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Hamish Matheson (Roofing Contractors Association of B.C. [RCABC]), Josh Jensen (All Round Restorations), and Leonard M. Coughlin (Enercorp/Carlisle) are slated to present on single-ply roofing membranes.
The Architectural Institute of B.C. (AIBC) is calling for submissions for its 2018 Architectural Awards Program, which showcases the best architects among its members. Projects completed within the past three years are eligible for entry. AIBC is also inviting applicants to sit on the awards jury. March 1 is the last date to apply for both.
Last week, WoodWorks British Columbia, a division of the Canadian Wood Council, announced its nominees for the 14th annual Wood Design Awards. More than 100 projects and industry professionals are recognized across 14 categories, including the newly introduced Prefabricated Structural Wood division, which honours creative design and innovative use of prefabricated wood systems, components, and modules in a variety of building types.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) announced the winners of this year’s Institute Honor Awards, recognizing projects exemplifying excellence in architecture, interior architecture, and urban design. Terrace House in Vancouver has received its official building permits to begin construction in the city’s Coal Harbour neighbourhood.
