SP2/CCA workshops in Toronto

Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) is hosting two five-day workshops in Toronto next month.

From March 9 to 13, Specifier 2 (SP2) and Construction Contract Administrator (CCA) courses will be held at the Eaton Chelsea Toronto (formerly the Delta Chelsea).

Developed to support students pursuing a career in construction specification writing, SP2 is designed for those wanting to know more about the preparation and processes needed to produce quality contract documents. It serves as a refresher for the practising specifier, and assists those preparing for the Registered Specification Writer (RSW) program or wishing to become a Certified Specification Practitioner (CSP). Attendees should have a laptop, and be experienced in reading construction drawings/specifications and researching materials and reference standards.

The CCA course, on the other hand, is designed for those involved in construction administration, from design professionals to building authorities and from property managers to insurance agencies. It is a requirement for the CCCA designation.

For both workshops, the Principles of Construction Documentation (PCD) is a prerequisite. Those you have not completed the PCD can challenge the exam prior to registering.

The cost is $1199 (plus tax) for members, and $1399 for non-members. For more information, visit http://csc-dcc.ca/img/content/March%202015%20workshops.pdf[1] or e-mail Clafton Fiola[2] at the national office.
