The Winnipeg Chapter of CSC[1] is offering two education courses this fall—Principles of Construction Documentation (PCD) and Specifier.
Held from October 25 to 29, the PCD course will be taught on consecutive days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at ft3 Architecture Landscape Interior Design[2]. The introductory program will enable participants to have a better understanding of construction documentation (specifications, drawings, and schedules), products, bidding procedures, and contracts. It is also a prerequisite for the Technical Representative, Specifier, or Construction Contract Administrator courses.
Registration must be received by Friday, October 6. Contact Brenda Thompson[3] at the earliest.
The Specifier is a seven consecutive day course from November 4 to 10. Having replaced the Specifier 1 and Specifier 2 programs, it is a comprehensive overview of the construction specification profession in Canada.
The course will be taught at Architecture 49[4] from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On weekends, it moves to Winnipeg Construction Association[5].
Students will have a solid grasp of a specifier’s role, legal issues including contracts, bidding, and disputes, writing style, and how to close out a project. A wide range of professional scenarios are explained, often using real-life examples.
Last date to register is October 16. For more information, e-mail Brenda Thompson[3].
