Roland Charneux, P.Eng., LEED AP BD+C, director at Pageau Morel[2], has won the 2018 Grand Prix d’excellence, the highest distinction awarded by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec[3] (OIQ) to one of its members.
Throughout his career, Charneux focused on designing energy efficient buildings. According to a statement by Pageau Morel, Charneux has left a significant legacy by mentoring and training a generation of young engineers. He has received more than 25 awards for projects he has worked on, including nine technology awards from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
“Roland has significantly helped improve the field of building engineering, notably through his involvement within technical committees. He is the epitome of integrity and a reference for what an engineer should be throughout his or her career,” said Pageau Morel’s president Nicolas Lemire.
This prize is bestowed upon a Québec engineer in recognition of his or her visionary qualities, innovative achievements, and social commitment.
