New steel industry courses available

The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC-ICCA) has launched new accreditation programs for steel building inspectors and connection designers.

The programs provide additional technical skills and credibility through the Steel Building Inspectors and Connection Designer course, in addition to the Steel Bridge Inspector certification currently in development. In total, there are 39 Accredited Steel Inspectors–Buildings across the country.

Courses being offered across Canada include:

  • Connections for Design Engineers (Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Toronto);
  • Fire Protection of Structural Steel (offered as a webinar); and
  • Steel Bridges–Design, Fabrication, Construction (Toronto).
