Figure 2: Builders went beyond code to ensure life safety and the longevity of this insulated concrete form (ICF)-constructed home. When the Category 5 Hurricane Michael struck the Florida panhandle in 2018, this building withstood the extreme force of wind and water even though dozens of structures were destroyed.
