The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) recently released a report emphasizing the need for increased investment and stronger policies to protect critical infrastructure from the increasing threats of climate change.

Recent incidents, such as the flooding in Toronto and the wildfires in Jasper, show these threats can disrupt the everyday lives of Canadians.

The report, Climate resilience in construction: Building for a sustainable future, focuses on the importance of building resilient infrastructure that can withstand extreme weather events and protect citizens.

Significant investment, strategic planning, and collaboration are needed to build infrastructure that is both resilient and sustainable as the construction sector is one of Canada’s largest employers and a major contributor to the country’s economic success. Incentives to pilot new processes and technologies are also needed.
