The Canadian Mechanical and Plumbing Expo (CMPX) announced speakers for the mid-March event, including a Construction Canada author.

Installers, architects, contractors, engineers, and national buyers will be heading to Toronto from Mar. 16 to 18 to learn about new innovations, ideas, technologies, and applications in the mechanical and plumbing industries. It is reportedly Canada’s largest heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) and plumbing show, with more than 500 exhibits.

Each day starts with a breakfast keynote address for $25 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. The following presentations will take place:

  • “The Internet of Things: The Opportunities and Impact of Connected HVACR Equipment and Devices,” by Bill MacGowan of Cisco Systems (to see his article on connected buildings, click here);
  • “Low Ambient Air to Water Heat Pumps,” by John Siegenthaler of Appropriate Designs; and
  • “What You Need to Know About Changing Refrigerants and Refrigerant Regulations,” by Rajan Rajendran of Emerson Climate Technologies.
