Leonard Pianalto, M.Sc. (Civil), P.Eng., FEC, LEED AP (Read Jones Christoffersen), will be the special guest at CSC Vancouver Island’s Thursday, April 13 meeting.
The engineer will discuss interesting challenges his team has faced in projects involving glass. The focus will be on the use of glass as a structural material, rather than a finishing or building enclosure element—examples will include floors, beams, bearing walls, point supports, shear walls, and roofs.
The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Fireside Grill in Victoria. It is held in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC), with registered AIBC members receiving one Core Learning Unit for attending.
