Halifax airport pandemic recovery to lift off with federal funding

The Government of Canada will aid the Halifax Stanfield International Airport in its recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with new funding geared to support continued air services and important transportation infrastructure projects.

The airport will receive more than $14.7 million from Transport Canada’s Airport Critical Infrastructure Program to support:

In addition to the funding for the infrastructure projects, the Government of Canada also provided the Halifax Stanfield International Airport with $5.57 million from Transport Canada’s Airport Relief Fund to help it maintain continued airport operations and essential air services for residents and workers in Halifax and surrounding communities.

As Canada works towards recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, investments in the airport infrastructure continue to be crucial to maintain safety, security, and connectivity for travellers, workers and communities.
