To automate cross-corridor fi re doors with enough time for easy fl ow of traffi c, a push or touchless actuator should be farther than from the opening. By creating a longer distance between the actuator and the door, it lets the user trigger the actuator sooner. As a result, the door is open by the time users get to it, minimizing damage from pushing. To make this transition, there are wireless actuator options that can ‘talk’ directly to the auto-operators.
