Vancouver’s Marine Gateway, a mixed-use transit-centric structure located outside of the city’s downtown core, will be a hub for green jobs and residences.
Designed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification by Perkins+Will, the $370-million project will include:
Marine Gateway is located on the Canada Line transit system, which connects the airport to Vancouver and Richmond. Located in the city’s Cambie Corridor, the structure is part of the area’s revitalization plans and was the first major project approved since the Canada Line’s opening in 2009. The development will provide more jobs and amenities for residents in addition to easy access to transit.
This week, developers announced the main tenant of the building will be Westport Innovations—an engineering firm focused on advanced natural gas engines and vehicles. Completion is scheduled for 2015.
