On Thursday, May 11, the Vancouver Chapter of CSC will be hosting a tour of an under-construction hospitality complex, led by IBI Group’s Mike Watts, Architect AIBC, CSP.
Enveloped by the city’s downtown entertainment district and nestled between of Yaletown and Gastown, Parq Vancouver includes two luxury and lifestyle hotels, gaming, spas, and eight restaurants and lounges. Built to Gold levels under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, it has more than 5760 m2 (62,000 sf) of flexible meeting and event space, and features the city’s largest hotel ballroom and a rooftop urban forest park.
Participants must bring their own safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hard hats, and safety vests. (Dust masks at their own discretion.) Photography inside the building is forbidden, due to security concerns. Participants will also be required to sign waiver sheets.
For more information on the event, which takes places from 1:15 to 3 p.m., click here. Cost is $22 for preregistered CSC members and $38 for non-members, plus GST.
