CSC Vancouver offers liability luncheon

by | January 6, 2015 12:12 pm

On Thursday, January 8, the Vancouver Chapter of CSC is presenting a discussion entitled, “Design Professionals’ Liability: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You.”

Presented by Glen Boswall and Satinder K. Sidhu, partners at Clark Wilson LLP, the lunchtime talk explores the law governing design professional liability arising from tort, contract, and statute. Their discussion includes standard of care, fiduciary duty, Letters of Assurance, field review, and building codes, along with an examination of what professional liability insurance does and does not provide.

The event takes place at the Sandman Hotel[1] (180 West Georgia Street), in the ballroom located straight through the back of Moxie’s. It kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with a full-course buffet, with the speakers expected to finish by 1:30 p.m. Registration is $32.00 for pre-registered[2] CSC members, and $48 for non-members (plus GST). For more information, e-mail[3] the chapter officer Vince Smith.

In other Vancouver news, the chapter is hosting a Technical Representative (TR) course[4] later this month.
