The Vancouver Island Chapter[1] has a busy October with meetings on sound membranes and roofing practices, as well as participation in a flooring expo.
On Thursday, October 19, Mapei will present “Crack and Sound Membranes” during a luncheon in Victoria.
The following week, one of Western Canada’s largest flooring shows, 2017 Flooring Expo[2], comes to the island on October 24. Held at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo, and organized by BC Floor Covering Association (BCFCA)[3], the expo is for meant for project managers, sales people, store owners, installers, interior designers, architects, property managers, general contractors, and building owners. There will be eight seminars from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on a range of topics. To register, email info@bcfca.com[4].
On Thursday, October 26, the Vancouver Island Chapter of Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC)[5] in association with Roofing Contractors Association of BC (RCABC)[6] is holding a lunch presentation[7] on the updated RCABC RoofStar Guarantee Standards and the reformatted Roofing Practices Manual. Participants will learn how to navigate the online manual to take effective decisions on roof design. Held at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Victoria from 11:30 a.m. to noon, the session is worth two AIBC learning units and two RCI learning credits. Last date to register is October 16.
