On Thursday, Mar. 10, the Vancouver Chapter of CSC is hosting a talk about basic acoustic principles and definitions, specifically the transfer of impact and airborne sounds in multi-storey buildings. Efficient means of acoustic insulation will be discussed using multiple case studies of recent floor-ceiling assemblies.
Led by André Rioux (AcoustiTECH), the presentation explores various means of soundproofing buildings and best practices (and pitfalls) of acoustic design.
The event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. at the Sandman Hotel with a full-course self-serve buffet. Cost is $38 (plus GST) for pre-registered[1] CSC members and $48 (plus GST) for non-members.
