On Tuesday, April 4, the Toronto Chapter of CSC will host a dinner meeting that explores roofing, highlighting major failures and introducing the changes made to improve system performance.
The evolution of roofing as a waterproofing system has a relativity short history and a long list of lawsuits. Presenter Douglas Fishburn, RRO, GRP (Fishburn Building Sciences Group), a member of various Canadian General Standard Board (CGSB), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and RCI committees, will offer examples including asphalt shingles, ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), thermoplastic olefin (TPO), solar panels, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), modified bitumen (mod-bit), built-up roofing (BUR), and vegetated assemblies.
The event takes place at the Toronto Skating, Curling, and Cricket Club, with cocktails beginning at 5:15 p.m. Dinner and the presentation will follow.
