CSC Toronto: AGM, the links, and tender talk

On May 5, the Toronto Chapter of CSC will present a legal discussion by Catherine E. Willson, along with its annual general meeting (AGM).

Willson, founding partner of Willson Lewis LLP and now with Goldman Sloan Nash & Haber LLP, will discuss the complex (and growing) laws surrounding tendering—a competition (bidding) for work, not negotiation. A board of directors member of the Toronto Construction Association (TCA), she will explore:

  • phases involved in the procurement process;
  • pre-tender considerations and requirements;
  • liability of owners and generals;
  • bid packages; and
  • recent case law.

For more information, visit here or contact the chapter’s chair, Kazim (Kaz) Kanani at kaz@kananiassoc.com.

In other CSC Toronto news, the group is hosting its 28th annual “Day on the Greens” golf tournament on August 13, at Richmond Hill Golf Club.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and leading to a 4:30 p.m. dinner banquet, the best-ball tournament is already half-full. Register here.
