CSC London goes lean over dinner

On Tuesday, November 22, the London Chapter of CSC will explore lean integrated project delivery (IPD) over dinner at Saffron’s Culinary School Restaurant at Fanshawe College.

Brian Watkinson (Strategies 4 Impact!) will discuss how this method differs from ‘traditional’ models like Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Construction Management. Lean focuses a project IPD team—usually owner, contractor, and designer—on delivering high-quality projects faster, and at lower cost. This team signs a new form of contract—a multi-party agreement built around true, structured collaboration, minimizing risk through early involvement of key trades.

Under this lean paradigm, both risk and reward is shared. The owner’s share of savings the team finds together can be reinvested into the project to increase program and quality, add new features, or simply save money on the capital construction. The other parties can substantially increase their profits through their share of the savings.

Attendees will learn the principles and processes behind lean IPD, including target value Design, pull planning and the last planner system, co-location in the Big Room, and more.

The event kicks off with cocktails at 6 p.m., and the cost is $45. To register, click here.
