On Wednesday, April 27, CSC’s Hamilton/Niagara Chapter is hosting a technical luncheon that delves into uncontrolled solar reflections from buildings, which have been blamed for everything from blinding drivers and damaging homes to burning people.
Ryan Danks, P.Eng., a senior engineer with RWDI Habitat, will investigate the causes of these and other impacts that reflections can have on their surroundings. He will examine some of the common pitfalls during design, and explore measures that can prevent and mitigate refection-related problems.
The talk, along with lunch, takes place in Burlington, Ont., at the Royal Canadian Legion (828 Legion Rd.). Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with the presentation ending by 2 p.m. Admission is $25 per person, payable at the door. (ATM onsite or cheques payable to CSC Hamilton/Niagara Chapter.)
