September’s luncheon meeting of CSC’s Hamilton/Niagara Chapter will inform building consultants and owners about potential moisture-related issues that can become long-term concerns.
On Thursday, September 25, Philip Kingswood, a representative for Structural Monitoring Technology (SMT), will discuss the building monitoring technology used for investigating wall and roof performance. These technologies are also capable of monitoring:
● moisture content;
● condensation;
● dew point;
● thermo profiling;
● vapour pressure;
● differential air pressure; and
● building component movement.
The various sensors, monitoring systems, and scanning methods that can be used for verification and reporting will be demonstrated. Finally, practical applications, installation details, site conditions, and potential monitoring results across all stages of a building’s lifecycle will be explored.
Kingswood has more than two decades of experience in the construction, building maintenance, and building supplies industry and has represented SMT since 2013.
The talk, along with lunch, takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion (828 Legion Rd.), in Burlington, Ont. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., with the presentation ending by 2 p.m. Admission is $25 per person, payable at the door. (ATM onsite or cheques payable to CSC Hamilton/Niagara Chapter.)
