The Grand Valley Chapter is holding a webinar on “Rainscreen Claddings and Drained Walls: Technology, Codes, and Regulation” on Thursday, October 15. Networking will be from 12:45 to 1 p.m., followed by the presentation from 1 to 2 p.m.
John Straube, PhD, P.Eng., a principal at RDH Building Science and RDH Building Science Laboratories, will be presenting on how some building systems (roofs, glazing, and precast) work fine as face-sealed systems with drained joints, what the difference is between the performance of brick, siding, and panel cladding, and how science, the Ontario Building Code (OBC), and the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) predominantly look at these systems.
The cost is $10 members, $15 non-members, and $5 for students.
