On Wednesday, May 20, CSC’s Grand Valley Chapter is having its first Connections Café at the Pines Wedding & Function Centre[1] in Cambridge, Ont.
Rather than the standard trade show route, the group will be hosting a relaxed, invite-only social setting where industry colleagues can meet to exchange information and develop business contacts. Sponsors of the event receive 11 tickets to invite their clients from the design, specifying, contractor, and government sectors to come together in a social environment for hors d’oeuvres, along with a complimentary refreshment. (Sponsors can purchase additional tickets for $60 plus HST.) For more information, contact David Boyle[2].
In addition to the networking, the chapter will use the evening to announce the winners of the CSC 2015 “Tapping the Future” Student Design Competition. (The event will be live-streamed at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/csc-design-competition[3].) More than 20 entries were submitted from four schools, with students looking to redesign the town’s Hespeler Post Office into an entertainment/hospitality-based business. The top winners will be featured in Construction Canada Online. For a look at last year’s winners, click here[4].
