The Calgary Chapter[1] is hosting its annual Connections Café at the Calgary Winston Golf Club[2] on February 27 from 3 to 9 p.m.
Karen Ramstead is the keynote speaker. She is the first Canadian woman to complete the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race[3]. She has run ‘The Last Great Race on Earth’ 11 times, finishing in 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2012. According to Cruises to Alaska[4], the 1770-km (1100-mi) race pits men, women, and their dog teams against the wilderness, subzero temperatures, blizzard force winds, whiteout conditions, windchills of –100 C (–148 F), and other nasty surprises that Mother Nature can cook up in the dead of the Alaskan winter.
The tradeshow will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Building owners, architects, interior designers, technologists, engineers, and general contractors (GCs) are expected to attend the networking event.
