The contract to complete construction of the new Fredericton justice building has been awarded to Bird Construction. The construction management firm will oversee the third and final phase of the project beginning this spring.

“We are excited to announce the next phase of this project, which incorporates a different delivery model for our department,” transportation and infrastructure minister, Richard Ames, said. “The construction management services will be an integral part of developing this project for the Fredericton area.”

The project, under development on King Street between Regent and Carleton streets, was announced in 2021. Phases 1 and 2 involved site preparation, foundation work, and structural steel, which was completed last summer. The final phase is expected to be done by spring of 2026.
