In December, the annual Construct Canada conference and exposition drew architects, specifiers, builders, and owners/developers to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTTC). The event, organized by Informa Canada, also included the HomeBuilder & Renovator Expo, PM (i.e. Property Management) Expo, Concrete Canada, DesignTrends, Construct International, and the National GreenBuilding Conference.
The three-day event offered some 1050 exhibits, along with 450 speakers offering information about products, technologies, best practices, and applications for home and building design, construction, operation, retrofit, and renovation.
As in years past, Construction Canada magazine partnered with the Ontario Building Envelope Council (OBEC) to present a series of seminars focused on “Building Envelope Solutions.” Topics included “Greening the Building Envelope and Moving Toward Sustainability and Net Zero: What is Now Feasible,” “Air Leakage Control Is Not Just about Energy,” and “Restoration, Repair, and Protection of Concrete Building Envelopes and Parking Structures.”
This year, it will be held in conjunction with Informa’s architectural/interior design expo, IIDEX Canada, taking over both the north and south wings of the MTCC. Together, the December 3-5 event will be christened ‘The Buildings Show: Canada’s Largest Annual Exposition + Conference for the Design, Building & Management of Real Estate.’ More than 40,000 attendees are expected to attend.
