CISC hosts annual Steel Day across Canada

The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) is hosting its annual Steel Day on Sept. 16—an event full of interactive, networking opportunities for the design, construction, and structural steel industries nationwide.

On Steel Day, galvanizers, hollow-structural-section (HSS) producers, mills, steel fabricators, bender-rollers, and others will open their facilities, jobsites, and offices to the general public to showcase how steel contributes to the building industry in Canada. The event often attracts architects, engineers, contractors, developers, students, and educators.

Each Steel Day site will teach attendees the benefits of structural steel, including:

having the most recycled content of any structural material;
being technological sophisticated for a fully integrated supply chain, eliminating errors and downtime;
lowered project costs as a result of reduced labour and equipment requirements; and
lower foundation costs.
