CSC is hosting its Principles of Construction Documentation (PCD) course from November 22 to 26 in Toronto. The association will also be running a Construction Contract Administrator (CCA) course from March 21 to 25, again in Toronto. The CSC Specifier course—held March 19 to 25—is also open for registration.

CSC Edmonton talks indemnity

On Tuesday, November 14, the Edmonton Chapter of CSC is organizing a breakfast meeting. Corbin Devlin from McLennan Ross will talk about “Indemnity Provisions.” The presentation will cut through the legalese of typical indemnity provisions and discuss what is reasonable and what to watch out for. On Thursday, November 23, the chapter is organizing a networking event from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Metro Billiards near Edmonton’s Ice District.

CSC Vancouver explores vertical transportation

On Thursday, October 12, the Vancouver Chapter of CSC is organizing a meeting on “Elevators—Cutting Through the Jargon.” Ray DeMeyer will touch upon a variety of topics—from the various types of elevators and elevating devices available to relevant codes and regulations, differing and emerging technologies, and other unique elevator requirements one might encounter on a new or existing building project.

CSC Vancouver Island: Sound membranes, expo, and roofing practices on agenda

The Vancouver Island Chapter has a busy October with meetings on sound membranes and roofing practices, as well as participation in a flooring expo. On Thursday, October 19, Mapei will present “Crack and Sound Membranes” during a luncheon in Victoria. The following week, one of Western Canada’s largest flooring shows, 2017 Flooring Expo, comes to the island on October 24.
