Calgary Chapter discusses architectural woodwork

CSC Calgary is holding a lunch meeting on architectural woodwork manufacturing standards and how to specify for long-term quality for clients or end-users. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winston Golf and Country Club.

William Hamilton, certified GIS Inspector – Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC) Southern Alberta Chapter and a Journeyman Red Seal Joiner (Cabinetmaker), will be speaking at the event.

The presentation will focus on:

  • AWMAC’s Standards Manual, the North American Architectural Woodwork Standards (NAAWS) 3.1, and the three grades (economy, custom, and premium);
  • how and what to specify for accurate bid prices;
  • material standards and what cores are best used where in a project; and
  • how to make sure the manufacturers are doing what the contract documents are asking for.
