An international conference focused on improving accuracy in modelling building performance has called for papers for seminar presentations.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and U.S. International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) are jointly hosting the Building Simulation Conference next September in Atlanta, Ga. The focus will be on topics such as building information modelling (BIM), building energy modelling (BEM), and building simulation.

Conference organizers are seeking papers from around the world regarding topics such as:

  • analytic modelling tools;
  • HVAC component modelling;
  • data exchange and interoperability; and
  • model and algorithm advances.

“The challenge of integrating multiple architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) disciplines and creating a platform for interoperability to accurately model building performance is universal,” conference chair Dennis Knight toldConstruction Canada Online. “The conference brings together the best minds in modelling, research, and software development from all over the globe to vet these challenges and collaborate on potential solutions and future needs.”

Abstracts must be submitted by November 4, with papers due in March. The event will be held September 10 to 12, 2014.
