Atlantic Canada’s best green buildings

Atlantic Canada’s outstanding green building projects were recently honoured by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) with the 2018 CaGBC Atlantic Chapter Green Building Awards.

The Maple, a residential development in downtown Halifax by Southwest Properties, won in the category of Excellence in Green Building – New Construction. It is targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.

Metropolitan Place, owned by Choice Properties REIT and only one of three EnergyStar “First Certifications in Canada” from Atlantic Canada, won for Excellence in Green Building – Existing Building.

The Wilkinson Warehouses in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and the only industrial multitenant project for the CaGBC’s Zero Carbon Building Standard (ZCB), won in the Zero Carbon category.
