The Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) honoured 12 projects and one firm with awards during its annual conference on May 18.
Winning projects reflect significant contributions in the area of green building and excellence in other areas of design. Two projects received the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Award in Architecture—medal:
There were also seven merit winners for the award:
The Surrey Operations Centre, designed by Taylor Kurtz Architecture and Design and Rounthwaite, Dick and Hadley Architects, won the AIBC Innovation Award. Marianne Amodio Architecture Studio received the AIBC Emerging Firm Award, and Shaughnessy House by Measured Architects and 2211 Canbie by Arno Matis Architure and Azurean Architecture won special jury awards.
