CSC London looks at roof-mounted PVs

On Thursday, March 26, the London Chapter of CSC will be hosting a dinner presentation that includes an exploration of rooftop photovoltaics (PVs).

Douglas C. Fishburn, RRO, GRP (Fishburn Building Sciences Group), will provide attendees with a balanced look at “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Roof-mounted Solar Panels” after a meal at Saffron’s Culinary School Restaurant, located in Fanshawe College’s A-block. A past-president of the Ontario chapter of the Roof Consultants Institute (RCI), he will draw on more than 40 years of building envelope, construction, and design experience to examine efficient, safe, and cost-effective renewable energy sources for both commercial and residential building applications. At the same time, Fishburn will show how solar energy is far from free and the losses from failure in the industry are in the billions.

The event begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the presentation. Registration is $45 per person. For more information, contact the chapter’s Allan Taylor or Kees Govers.
