Grand Valley Chapter looks at OHSA changes, plans Connections Cafe

On March 11, CSC’s Grand Valley Chapter will be hosting a lunch meeting that will include a look at the proposed changes to Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

The presentation, entitled “Working at Heights,” will be delivered by John Knegt (Battlefield Equipment Rentals) and discuss what the proposed changes to the existing legislation are, why they are being made, and how contractors will need to change the way they work at heights in order to comply.

The event, which costs $20 for members and $25 for non-members, will be held at the Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA) offices (25 Sheldon Dr.) in Cambridge, Ont. It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In other Grand Valley news, the chapter will be holding its first Connections Café on May 20. Planned as an annual event, it will bring together design/construction professionals and building product manufacturers in a ‘booth-free’ meet-and-greet environment; it will also serve as a showcase for the top five entries of this year’s Tapping the Future design competition, unveiling ‎the winner.
