Toronto’s One Bloor condominium project has been recognized globally as the “Best International High-rise Residential Development.”

Developed by Great Gulf Residential and designed by architects Hariri Pontarini, the 78,317-m2 (843,000-sf) structure features a multi-level podium with three floors of retail space, and a 75-storey, 700-unit residential tower with sculpted balconies. It is located at the intersection of the city’s two major subway lines and an underground shopping concourse. A high-performance curtain wall and vegetated roofing assemblies are part of the project’s sustainable design elements.

The project was cited at the 21st installment of the International Property Awards in London, England; this program distributed honours in 50 residential and commercial categories for projects around the world. The highest-scoring projects from gala presentations throughout the year are re-evaluated for the international winners which were presented in Dubai. A panel of more than 80 industry experts is responsible for assessing projects and determining the winners based on innovation designs and sustainability.

“It is an honour to receive this global recognition from the International Property Awards,” said Great Gulf Residential’s president Christopher Wein. “One Bloor, a bold futuristic building featuring a series of undulating curves, represents a symbol of excellence in design, technology, and experience and will become a landmark in Toronto’s prestigious Bloor-Yorkville Mink Mile.”
