Weston Williamson + Partners, an architecture and urban design practice in Canada, the U.K., and Australia, has joined forces with engineering and consulting firm Egis.
Weston Williamson + Partners is an award-winning practice with studios in Toronto, Manchester, London, Sydney, and Melbourne. Projects in Canada include the Yonge North and Scarborough subway extensions in Toronto and Innisfil Orbit, a ‘smart city’ for up to 150,000 people in the Greater Toronto Area. Some of the practice’s other projects include two new Crossrail stations and an extension to the Docklands Light Railway in London, and the expansion of Melbourne’s Metro system.
With operations in 120 countries worldwide, Egis is active in the consulting, construction engineering, and mobility service sectors. Having recently produced the Paris 2050 Carbon Neutral Plan, Egis already works with some of the world’s leading architectural firms, and has invested in Weston Williamson + Partners as part of a strategic plan to develop architectural talents in-house.
The partnership will allow Weston Williamson + Partners to expand their global reach and compete for high-profile projects in new markets. The new Weston Williamson + Partners board will be led by founding partners Chris Williamson as chair and Rob Naybour as chief executive officer, alongside Weston Williamson + Partners’ managing partner Philip Breese and four senior Egis-employed board members.
