A new elevated beachside condominium community, Movala, in Kelowna, B.C., will be located in the heart of the city’s Lower Mission neighbourhood.
Kelowna City Council gave final approvals on the project at a public hearing earlier this month. The residential development is the vision of local developer Stober Group, who has completed other commercial communities in the city such as the Landmark District.
“This is an exciting time for our company, after many years of owning the land and careful consultation we look forward to building this significant residential community that is not only on a premium beachside location, but steps away from shopping, cafés, restaurants, and outdoor activities,” said Dave McAnerney, CEO, Stober Group.
“This is a showcase project for our company but also for our entirely local team that we have brought together including, Meiklejohn Architects Inc, interior design team Begrand-Fast, Ecora Landscape Design, and sales and marketing through Epic Real Estate,” McAnerney said.
Movala will be immersed amongst Kelowna’s mountains, valley, and lake. The development consists of one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes with panorama views of Okanagan Lake and steps to Kelowna’s Pandosy Village.
Designed to become an architecturally significant landmark in the city, Movala’s contemporary concrete construction is accented by dynamic curves and terraced features, Stober Group said in a press release. Each home embraces the essence of Okanagan indoor-outdoor living with a focus on extensive decks and large windows designed to take in the views.
The buildings offer residents indoor and outdoor amenities including a business centre with work hubs, golf simulator, fitness centre and yoga studio, library, coffee bar, outdoor pool, hot tub, saunas and showers, a cabana beach club, and bocce lawn.
