The Calgary Chapter is holding a lunch meeting on “Low-slope Metal Roofing and Fire Issues with SBS Roofing,” on Tuesday, October 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winston Golf and Country Club.
Stephen Teal, business development manager for Flynn Canada, will be speaking at the event.
Since an increasing number of metal roofing specifications do not comply with the manufacturer’s or minimum slope requirements, the presentation will try to answer why we keep specifying metal roofs that do not meet the basic requirements. It will also explain how to easily rectify this problem without changing the slope and provide solutions that offer up to double the life expectancy, approximately 50 per cent higher effective R-value, and more colour options for virtually the same cost.
Fire issues with styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) roofing will also be discussed. The presentation will explore how SBS roofing specifications can contribute to fire damage, and easy solutions to address the issues.
The meeting is open to all. Dinner, socializing, and networking are limited to 50 people due to COVID-19. Click here for more information or to register.
