Devimco Immobilier, Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ, and Fiera Properties have entered into a partnership to develop one of the largest mixed-use real estate projects in Montréal’s Quartier des spectacles neighbourhood.

Comprising two towers—51 and 53 storeys—the $700 million Maestria project will have approximately 1000 condos and 500 rental units. Construction is slated to start end of this year.

Designed in collaboration with the architectural firm Lemay, Maestria will be inspired by the arts and culture of the Quartier des spectacles.

Daniel Arbour, senior partner at Lemay, describes it as “a nod in the direction of the Quartier des spectacles, a project with a powerful identity and a unique signature, with the two tall towers seemingly in motion, like a pair of tango dancers.”

The design includes a walkway between the two towers at the 25th storey, offering residents a prime view for every major event held in the Place des Festivals below. The plans also call for a mini-plaza that could be used by adjacent retailers to host cultural events.

“We are proud to be building a distinctive, avant-garde property that will help enhance the urban fabric of this booming arts and culture district,” said Devimco Immobilier president Serge Goulet.
