The CSC Toronto Chapter is hosting its December 2018 dinner at the Toronto Skating, Curling, and Cricket Club where Travis Gerrits, freestyle skier and silver medalist at the 2013 World Championships, will talk about stigma surrounding mental illness. The event will take place on December 4. Cocktails will be served at 5:15 p.m. and followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The main presentation will take place at 7 p.m.
Gerrits, is the 2014 Beijing FIS World Cup Gold medalist, and was forerunner at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. He finished seventh overall at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games. Gerrits recently opened up about his diagnosis and is trying to change the way people think about mental illness.
