The Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) announced its 2016 award of distinction winners, including Tridel, which won Ontario home builder of the year.
Tridel, based in Toronto, was chosen based on its commitment to building sustainable communities, its involvement and initiatives within its communities, and its devotion to customer engagement and service. Tridel structures are built to conserve more energy, water, and resources than standard code-compliant buildings. The company has built several communities that include both residential and commercial spaces.
Tridel is an advocate for community action. It created Building Opportunities for Life Today (BOLT) in 2009, which is a collaborative initiative to connect youth-at-risk to careers in construction. To date, the company has raised $1.2 million to provide 168 scholarships for this program.
