Canadian Wood Council launches WoodWorks Summit in Vancouver

Design and construction industry professionals familiar with the popular “Wood Solutions” conferences, hosted by the Canadian Wood Council (CWC) for more than 20 years, will want to save the date for the inaugural WoodWorks Summit 2023, “Shaping the Future of Sustainable Construction,” taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre from November 14 to 16.

The WoodWorks Summit will take the best of the Wood Solutions Conferences and present it in an expanded, high-profile, multi-day offering that includes mass timber manufacturing and building tours, a mass timber industry roundtable (by invitation only), and various networking opportunities, in addition to the highly regarded educational program and exhibitor showcase of the original conference format.

This specialized conference is an educational event dedicated to helping practitioners increase their capacity for sustainable wood design and construction by sharing the latest advancements and applications for wood products and building systems, alongside valuable market information and code updates.

The conference organizers are pleased to present a program of more than 20 expert panelists and speakers that includes Lara Kaufman from Studio Gang Architects, Tim and Boris Gokhman from New Land Enterprises, Lindsey Wikstrom from Mattaforma, and international guest presenter Lasse Lind from 3XN / XGN in Denmark.

Several building case studies will be presented including KF Aerospace, Ascent, and the First Nations Health Authority’s (FNHA’) new metro Vancouver office. The presentations in the educational program range from inspirational to technical, offering something for everyone. Additional technical topics include acoustics, engineered wood products, sustainable forestry, the evolution of building codes, navigating jurisdictional requirements, insuring mass timber, prefabrication, and more.

Regular registration for the Summit is $350+HST and it includes the networking event on November 15 and the full conference pass on November 16 (continental breakfast, lunch, all sessions, and a personalized continuing education certificate documenting learning hours completed). An early bird discount of $50 is available until October 15, using the promo code EarlyBird.
